My Dad: In Honor of Father's Day

My dad is my hero. He always has been. When I was a little girl, I loved to run errands with him just so that I could spend time with him.

My dad has taught me to always do the right thing, regardless of the consequences.

He has taught me to put the Lord first, to "go and do the things the Lord commands," and to "help build the kingdom of God."

He has taught me that "dads know everything" and that "the only good gopher is a dead gopher."

He has taught me to work hard. He is the hardest worker I know (ask anyone and everyone). He works hard at everything he does.

He has taught me how to maneuver through disappointments with faith and hope. He has had many and still perseveres.

He is an innovator at everything he does.

He has shown me how a priesthood leader blesses a home.

He has mastered delegation and is an extraordinary leader.

My dad has many accomplishments; he is a New York Times Bestselling Author, he has grown his company, he is a revered speaker and facilitator, he has been an amazing mission president, stake president, and MTC branch president, but the title I love best is that he is my father.

I hope I can be like him one day. This Father's Day was so wonderful; my parents and I sang some of our old favorite songs, and it reminded me once again that "I was born of goodly parents."

This Father's Day my dad treated us with a mini-concert! Another one of his many talents.

Browning Bliss!

We have had so many fun, family outings the last couple of weeks with family being in town from Iowa while chiropractic school is out! We have also been able to spend some bonding time with our one and only nephew. We are sad we don't get to see them more often, so we soak it up while we can!

Ben and Tate walking toward the train!

Tate's a little in love with "choo choos"

We met up for a picnic in the park! So fun! Tate and I went on a nature walk.

In honor of Tate's love for trains, we went on the front-runner down to SLC and City Creek!

The highlight of family time, so far, was our girls' night pedicure; for many of us, it was a first! It was absolutely heavenly. I think we were all basking in the pampering we received. The complimentary sprite with frozen watermelon is a new favorite!

Cute Nat!

It was so fun to be in a room all together! That's a rarity for all of us Browning girls. Now we understand why everyone loves pedicures!

We had almost matching toenails! More fun Browning family times to come in the next couple of weeks while everyone is together :)

Savor Summer

I have so many fun things to blog about but instead this is what's on my mind...

You know how it goes...when you have a million trillion things to do and you don't know where to begin. That's how I have been feeling for the past few weeks, especially today. The sad thing is--many of these "to-do" items are fun things, but I feel the pressure of needing to plan them/do them all at once. I don't know how it happens, but summer hits hard every year. There are so many fun summer things on the bucket list, outside house chores, girls camp, youth conference, family reunions and more, but before you know it, it's all over.

I am trying to slow down this summer. Abandon the toilet cleaning for an outdoor picnic. Spend time with family rather than organize our mess that still persists from painting. Plan the bucket list items instead of waiting for them to happen (like when you live less than thirty minutes away from Pineview Reservoir and you have never been). You know, that kind of thing.

The dishes will wait. The piles will still be there tomorrow. And I am learning to be okay with that. One day at a time.
